One of the truly rare Colorado vacation finds is the entrancing Lakeview Mountain Home. There are only a few homes in Durango that can offer a mountain vacation home where you not only have incredible views of a lake AND mountains plus a creek that runs right through the property!! Everywhere you look from this over 300 sg ft deck the views will enthrall you.

Enjoy morning coffee or family dinners on this deck and the mountain serenity of this heavily wooded, 2 acre site will envelop you. No traffic, no crowds. Just the sounds of those heavenly mountain breezes in the pines, song birds and rushing Cascade Creek are heard in your mountain hideaway.

Soak under the stars in the hot tub after an exhilarating day skiing or hiking where no street lights interfere with the clear mountain skies. Take the short hike down to the Cascade Creek and enjoy high mountain fishing. But this just the outside!

As you walk into the great room of this spacious 2800 sq ft home and your eyes are immediately drawn to the wall of windows over looking the beautiful Electra Lake. This incredible view can also be enjoyed while cooking and enjoying family dinners in the kitchen/dining areas.

This beautifully appointed great room offers a luxurious southwest motif.
The living room with its large T.V. is a great place to gather the family for movies/conversation and just enjoying each one another. Or snuggle in front of the cozy wood stove (with glass front) on a frosty night.

Step up to the loft bedroom area  (with double futon)which provides an additional place for the kids to play games (fooseball table provided), or watch movies. This loft is so private it is essentially another bedroom.

One of the two master suites is on the main floor and this fabulous room enjoys its own private deck and hot tub. The adjoining tiled bath offers a walk -in shower and double sinks. A private office is available  in this wing of the house for you IF YOU MUST work during your visit and offers WiFi/DSL.

The third bedroom with a set of bunks (double on the bottom/twin on the top) and a double futon is perfect for the kids. Another full bathroom with tub/shower combination and the laundry room rounds out this main floor.

Upstairs the second master bedroom with king bed and attached tiled bath has beautiful, unique antique shutters as part of its attractive decor.

Approximately ½ miles away is Lake Purgatory where you are welcome to fish off its banks (or bring your canoe/kayak.)

A short 3 minute drive takes you to the Durango Mountain Resort (Purgatory) where this winter sports mecca is also a wonderful summer vacation destination. The area comes alive with scenic chair lift rides, alpine slides, bungee trampolines, climbing walls, music festivals, and world class mountain biking (bike rentals available). You can even do a nature trek with a llama or put the kids in “kids’ camp for a day of fun filled activities. The mountain views are incredible from the beautiful village where all the shops/restaurants are decked out with the summer flower finery.

Dine outdoors at the brand new Purgy’s restaurant where you can enjoy the mountain views and perhaps enjoy a music concert.

Downtown Durango is a easy and beautiful 25 minute drive where you can enjoy white water rafting, world class fly fishing or golfing. Or take a ride on the famous Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad to an old mining town. Visit gold mines, ghost towns or go jeeping on incredible mountain passes!. Rodeos, street fairs and over 30 shops and restaurants all add to your Durango experience. Or just read a good book on this home’s incredible deck

In winter Durango Mountain Resort (Purgatory) is home to some of the best nordic and alpine skiing in the Rockies. How about a romantic sleigh ride or snowmobile into the majestic mountains. A wonderful tubing hill, snowshoe tours and even dog sled rides are available. Strolling the village’s shops or dining outdoors in front of the fire pit at Purgys and watching the skiers come down the mountain is a wonderful way to spend a winter’s day even if you don’t ski.

This home is within walking distance to its sister cabin (2 bedroom/1 bath cabin) so it offers a perfect get-away for large group or multiple families. Serenity and beauty surround you!

Cancellations made 46 or more days (61 days at Christmas and Spring Break) prior to arrival date are fully refundable minus a $100 handling fee. Rentals fees for cancellations made within 45 days (60 days at Christmas and spring Break) of arrival date are non refundable. (Sales tax, cleaning fee, pet fee and security deposit are refundable regardless of cancellation date.)
