This beautiful mountain retreat offers the best of the Rocky Mountains: Secluded in the San Juans with incredible views but minutes away from some of the best skiing, mountain biking, white water rafting, hiking, fly fishing, and golfing in the country!! This home is within walking distance of another mountain cabin - perfect for big families!

Over 2400 square feet, The Spruce Mesa Cabin is beautifully appointed with three bedrooms, two baths, as well as huge "windows to the woods" in the great room and living room.  You can sit in front of the fire in the family room and watch the woods fill up with snow through these floor to ceiling windows.

The kitchen with granite countertops is part of the great room and offers a breakfast area. But the dining area is the place for enjoying family meals.

The family room is a great place to watch the game or relax while the children enjoy the game table in the  living room.  With a queen sofa bed and two twin sleeper ottomons in the family room,

there is plenty of room for the whole family.  If you have little ones, there is a pac and play available and if you have a preapproved pet we even have a crate for your pooch!

The area beyond the dining room offers more room for family fun.  There you will find a game table as well as a desk for work (if you must!).  A Wifi connection will keep you in touch!

A king bed in the master suite and it's attached bath with a walk in shower is a wonderful sancturary.  Soaking in the oversized jacuzzi tub after a day of hiking or skiing is a joy.

The second bedroom with a two extra long twins can also be made into a king bed.  This bedroom shares another full bath with the third bedroom.

This third bedroom is a great place for the kids with a bunk (double on bottom and twin on top) plus a trundle bed (two twins.)

This home was built and furnished as a beautiful family home, not a rental. You will appreciate the difference.

The Spruce Mesa Cabin offers wrap around decks with views of the mountains.  Sitting on an acre of beautiful wooded land with the two adjoining acres undevloped, the home provides a heavenly place for outdoor dining or  just plain relaxing in summer.
In winter there a small hill that is great fun for the little ones to enjoy sledding.

A 12 minute drive takes you to the winter playland of Durango Mountain Resort (Purgatory Ski Area) where fantastic mountain scenery, superb alpine and Nordic skiing, as well as over 300 days of sunshine makes this one of the best kept secrets in the ski world.

But there is plenty of fun for non-skiers and boarders such as tubing hills, sleigh rides, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice climbing, shopping, dining, dancing, and more. The summer offers a special beauty with wildflowers abloom, waterfalls, high mountain scenery and lots to do!! Try jeeping, hiking, mountain biking, white water rafting, fishing, rodeos, summer concerts, wine tastings and more!

Downtown Durango, only 20 minutes away, is a charming historic western town and home to the Durango Narrow Gauge Railroad. "The Train" takes you up into a winter wonderland of incredible backcountry scenery. In the summer "The Train" stops in the historic mining town of Silverton. This is a ride worth taking!!! Mesa Verde National Park is nearby or try the soaking, massage and relaxation opportunties at a natural hot springs just minutes away.

Watch the wildlife from your wrap around deck or take a Jacuzzi after an exhilarating winter day. Cozy up to the fire after a home cooked meal in the gourmet kitchen. In the summer, cook up those fish you caught on the BBQ or hike down to a "classic Colorado" mountain lake and have dinner in a rustic 70 year old "sporting club" in a boathouse with views of the nearly 14,000 ft Engineer Mountain.

This is Colorado at its best!!
