One of the nicest experiences in life to is to share good times and places with friends and families. Our 2600 sq ft "Alpine House" in the beautiful San Juan Mountain range of the Colorado Rockies is the perfect place to that. It is roomy, sleeps 8 and is beautiful!!

The location couldn't be better if you are looking for a vacation rental that lets you know you are truly in the mountains. No high rises, no crowds - just 1.5 acres of beautiful aspen and spruce with a backdrop of mountains and woods.

The floor to ceiling windows off the living room, dining room and kitchen will entrance you. In the summer you can BBQ or lounge on the decks and watch the wildlife in the woods. In the winter watching the snow fill those woods as you snuggle in front of the crackling, real wood fireplace is magical.

The large gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops, top of the line appliances, double oven (one is convection) is a cook's dream. A wonderful kitchen in which to enjoy preparing family meals. The kitchen nook has a unique table that can be used for meals or flip the top and you have a game table with built in checkers, chess etc boards. The formal dining room with french doors out to the deck offers a comfortable and rustic elegance to your meals.

You will wake up looking at the mountains from the master bedroom with a king bed, beautiful hand carved wood furniture and a luxurious attached master bath with oversized tub, walk- in shower and double sinks.

The second bedroom (with queen bed) also has beautiful outdoor views. This bedroom shares a bath with the third bedroom/bonus room. New mattresses throughout the home ensure a good nights sleep.v
The large third "bedroom/bonus room" has a set of twin beds but additionally has a T.V. area with sectional sofa that provides another convertible double bed. This is almost a small living area in itself and is a perfect place for the kids to enjoy their own area while the adults relax in the living room. Finally a large "office section" of the room offers a great place to stay connected with the office (if you must.!!).

What a treat to store your skis or get into your vehicle in the 3 bay heated garage. There is plenty of room for bikes, kayaks or whatever "toys'" you may bring for your Colorado Vacation.

Hike out your back door to one of the most beautiful lakes in the Southwest. Electra Lake is a pristine mountain lake with a backdrop of near 14,000 ft mountains. It is breathtaking and a great place to fish, canoe or hike. In the summer, for a real treat have dinner in an old boathouse and sporting club built in 1929. As you sit at your table right on the lake you will not only enjoy the wonderful food but will be enthralled with the lake and mountain views. This is "old Colorado" at its best. No neon here!!

Just 12 minutes from the Durango Mountain Resort you will find every winter outdoor activity you could desire. In the summer, the mountains are magical with music festivals, alpine slides, waterfalls, wildflowers, mountain biking, hiking, jeeping, rafting etc.

Historic Downtown Durango, is only a 25 minute drive where you can spend days, shopping or dining or just enjoy strolling the streets of this beautiful old mountain town. This is the place to catch the famous Durango Silverton Railroad for a breathtaking ride to the mining town of Silverton. You can do some white water rafting or fly fishing on the Animas River which runs right through the middle of town!!! How about live theater or a rodeo?? The incredible Mesa Verde National Park, home to the "Cliff Dweller" ancient native Americans is a must see.

The Alpine House is the perfect base for a perfect winter or summer family vacation!
